Soft Sugar Cookies

We got this recipe from a friend and love the soft yummy texture of these cookies. Thanks, Mary Jane for sharing.


1 c butter
1 1/2 c Sugar
3 egg
1 tsp Vanilla
3 1/2 c All-Purpose Flour
2 tsp Cream of Tartar
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt

Cream butter, add sugar gradually until light and fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating between each one. Add vanilla.

Sift dry ingredients. Add gradually to wet ingredients.

Chill 3-4 hours or over night. Roll THICK for cutting shapes.

Bake at 375* for 6-8 minutes. Don't over-bake or they will be crunchy. Just lightly brown on the edges.
